A distinguished honor awarded by the University's Professorial Board for exceptional academic achievement.
"At Eminence University, Colorado, the conferment of academic titles is a distinguished honor, awarded by the University's Professorial Board to individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional record of achievement in their academic fields."
These titles signify leadership, outstanding contributions to the university, discipline, and profession, and a substantial national and international reputation in research, scholarship, teaching, learning, and academic leadership.
This document outlines the processes and criteria for awarding academic titles in recognition of scholarly accomplishments at Eminence University. The following sections describe the procedures for appointments and the annual conferment process.
Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
Eminence University is deeply committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all recruitment and promotion processes. Our goal is to build a diverse academic community where talent from every background can thrive without barriers, and where every individual can realize their full potential.
Members of the Professorial Board and all contributors to appointment and promotion processes are expected to be fully informed on equality legislation and conscious of preventing both direct and indirect discrimination.
Building a diverse academic community.
All selection processes — whether for recruitment or promotion — are conducted without bias based on age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. We also ensure that our recruitment and promotion systems are regularly reviewed to eliminate hidden biases.
Applicants for professorial appointments must submit the names and contact details of five external academic referees who are well-placed to evaluate their qualifications based on the stated criteria.
Must be of professorial standing in a field related to the applicant's area of expertise.
Must be independent, meaning they have not closely worked, collaborated, or supervised the applicant within the past five years.
Must not be personal partners or family members of the applicant.
From the five referees nominated by the applicant, the Professorial and Readership Board will select three to provide formal references.
Additionally, the Board will solicit evaluations from two independent referees of its own choosing within the applicant's field.
The role of external referees is to provide written assessments that help guide the Professorial Board's decision regarding the applicant's suitability for a professorial title.
Receiving the title of Professor from Eminence University reflects an individual's outstanding, significant, and lasting contributions to their academic discipline both nationally and internationally.
Applicants must show achievement across at least three of the four key areas outlined below and must excel in at least one.
"At Eminence University, Colorado, professorial titles are a testament to extraordinary academic achievement, leadership, and influence across the higher education landscape — both locally and globally."
